2001 Pacquiao vs Sanchez


This fight is held at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, California, United States in November 10, 2001. The HBO Pay per view commentators are Emmanuel Steward, Larry Merchant, & Jim Lampley.
Manny suffered a cut to the eye in the 2nd round due to an accidental head butt. Low blow in the 3rd round, point deducted from Sanchez for pushing in inside of his gloves on Pacquiao's head while holding together.
A series of low blows from Sanchez in the fourth round prompted Pacquiao to lie on the floor. The referee halted the fight temporarily to give Pacquiao a rest, but Manny Pacman Pacquiao showing the world that he is a true fighter, went back to the fight with an angry fury.
On the 5th round, Sanchez once again fouled Pacquiao with a series of low blows but referee Marty Denkin couldn't see it. On the 6th round, Manny Pacquiao's eye cut was just too open. The ringside doctor stops bout in the first minute of the 6th round due to the bad cut.
Despite Sanchez lost of two points for low blows, the fight was declared a draw. Final score is Raul Caiz Jr 55-57 | Marshall Walker 56-56 | judge: Ricardo Bays 58-54.
Agapito Sanchez retained his WBO super bantamweight title while Pacquiao retained his IBF super bantamweight title.
